Greystones Medical Centre is now administering the Covid-19 “Second” Booster Vaccine and the Influenza (Flu) Vaccine for patients who meet the below criteria. If you qualify for both vaccines you can receive them at the same time.

COVID-19 Second Booster Vaccine

The Second Covid-19 Booster Vaccine is available in Greystones Medical Centre.

We are currently vaccinating patients who meet the following criteria:

You must be a patient of Greystones Medical Centre and

    • At least 4 months since last covid vaccination.
    • At least 4 months since testing positive for Covid-19
    • Aged 50 years and above.
    • Aged 12 – 49 years who have underlying medical conditions associated
      with a higher risk of severe COVID (details of conditions can be found here) or
    • Healthcare worker (bring your work ID or a letter as proof of employment).

You need to wait in the clinic for 15 minutes after the vaccine. This is to make sure that you feel well before you leave. If you have had a severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) in the past, you’ll need to wait 30 minutes.

If your previous Covid-19 vaccinations have been administered somewhere other than Greystones Medical Centre please bring your vaccination certificate with you when you attend.

We are using the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine for this booster (it doesn’t matter which vaccine you had previously). Further information can be found on the HSE Website by clicking here 

The vaccine will be administered in strict adherence to the HSE’s guidelines. There is no charge for the vaccine.

Influenza (Flu) Vaccine

We are currently vaccinating patients who meet the following criteria:
The Seasonal Influenza (Flu Vaccine is now available in Greystones Medical Centre.

You must be a patient of Greystones Medical Centre and

  • aged 65 years and above or
  • aged 2 – 17 years or
  • a healthcare worker (bring your work ID or a letter as proof of employment)
  • pregnant or
  • working with pigs, poultry, waterfowl or
  • have one of the following conditions:
    • chronic heart disease, including acute coronary syndrome
    • chronic liver disease
    • chronic kidney failure
    • chronic respiratory disease, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cystic fibrosis, moderate or severe asthma, or bronchopulmonary dysplasia
    • chronic neurological disease including multiple sclerosis, hereditary and degenerative disorders of the central nervous system
    • diabetes
    • down syndrome
    • haemoglobinopathies
    • a body mass index (BMI) over 40
    • immunosuppression due to disease or treatment (including asplenia or hyposplenism, and all cancer patients)
    • children with a moderate to severe neurodevelopmental disorder such as cerebral palsy
    • children on long-term aspirin therapy
    • any condition that can compromise respiratory function, like spinal cord injury, seizure disorder or other neuromuscular disorder, especially people also attending special schools or day centres
    • carers or household contacts of these conditions

We will not be vaccinating patients outside of the above criteria.
